Hannah Brogden “sweet peace”
12X18, Acrylic on Canvas, 2020
I have pintrest where I save all my ideas on boards for everything and there was a painting similar to this and it stood out to me so that’s where I got my idea. The colors give off a peaceful mood and I think of sweet foods when I see the color pink so the symbolism is where I came up with my title. If I were to start over I would change more of a variety of plants of flowers on the hill. The blending and ombre of the sky is my favorite thing about this painting.
Hannah Brogden “Dirty Dev”
18X18, Acrylic on Canvas, 2020
About a year ago tons of people asked me to make paintings for them because I posted some of my work, there was one girl that I talked too but never got around to doing any pieces for anyone till a year later and I remembered telling her I would. She wanted a painting of her uncle that had passed away. I have no symbolism behind this but I hope I created it within this painting for her and her family. If I were to start over I wouldn’t change anything because I love how it turned out. His face has realism and kind of abstract look, that is my favorite part.
Hannah Brogden “pink flower”
Acrylic on Canvas, 2020
My best friends mom is a florist and when she has holidays or gets very busy I help her do flower deliveries and for school I had a project to take photos for flower photography so her shop came in handy to have a photoshoot. When I look at this piece I think of purple reflections with a realism style but it was actually a fake flower I found. If I were to start over I wouldn’t change anything I love how it turned out. Painting up close flower paintings are always my favorite!
Hannah Brogden “Blaze & the Pink Bear”
18X24, Acrylic, 2017 & 2020
My painting style is realism I took this photo of my first Dalmatian his name was Blaze he passed away from a blockage inside. The window in the picture was originally dark and gloomy so changed it to a bright cloudy day because he isn’t here anymore so I thought it would be happier because our family loved him and he was such a good dog so that’s what symbolism is in the painting also the bear was his favorite toy. If I started over I don’t think I would have done anything different because I really like how it turned out and it is my favorite painting I have ever painted. The dog and bear are my favorite things out the painting because they are the center objects standing out and they look 3D, the shading on them make it look even more realistic how they get darker in parts the light doesn’t hit. UPDATE i repainted clouds and touched up after few years.

“Succulent” 18X18, Acrylic, 2018 & 2020
This painting fits narrative theme because my style in life is simple with purpose and plants live simple but they do a lot for the life around them. Succulents store water in their leaves and stems, they symbolize enduring and timeless love. If I were to start over I wouldn’t change anything about it because the original picture was a smooth looking plant but my style of painting is texturized so I made the plant look not as realistic by adding texture and the lines aren’t as sharp, I love how it turned out and I wouldn’t do it different. UPDATE I added more white to make the details pop more!
