“Pollution”
18x12, Acrylic on paper, 2019
My painting fits the social issue theme because it depicts pollution. I chose this subject matter because pollution is a serious issue that negatively affects the earth. I can identify factories emitting smokestacks and polluted water, as well as a trash can. If I started over I would make the grass look more realistic. I love how the buildings and the water turned out.
"Centennial Park"
9x12, Gouache and watercolor on paper, 2019
My painting fits the narrative theme because to me it tells the story of a nice sunny day. This painting is based off of a picture I took at Centennial Park in Davenport of the Mississippi River. If I started over, I would add the bridge into the painting and not make the light pole so wide. I love how the tree in the background turned out.

"Flowers"
This painting originally started out as the red flower in the middle. I got the idea from the cabinet of still life objects. To revise it, I decided to add more flowers. I don't really like how the leaf turned out on the red flower, I would make the lines thinner. I love how the colors of the sunflower turned out.
"Jar"
I also got the idea from the still life cabinet. I thought it would be a good challenge to try to make the jar appear transparent and glass-like. I would add the logo onto the jar and make the wire look more realistic. I love how the different shades of blue turned out.
