Cougars 2 College

College Signing Day is an event hosted every year by former First Lady Michelle Obama, and we are thrilled to take part in a network of over 1,200 events nationwide (in all fifty states!) right here in Antelope! Celebrating our seniors' success means more than a party—it means they know we are proud of their hard work, invested in their futures and excited to see what they do next.

COUGARS 2 COLLEGE

CHS AVID has turned the entire week into planned events to honor these seniors and to showcase their accomplishments to the entire school. The schedule for the week is:

Motto Monday - Teachers are asked to post their college mottos on their whiteboards. Posters will be hung up on campus showing students where their teachers and staff went to college.

Take it back Tuesday - Students who have submitted their names for Purple Cord will find their names posted on campus. Teachers will be given a handmade pennant of their college to post on their doors.

What's Next Wednesday - Purple Cord students will receive a special invitation to join us in the quad during both lunches Thursday for College Signing Day

Signing Day! - Students will be invited to the quad as Purple Cord recipients sign a "certificate of intent" and enjoy lunch on us! Pictures will be taken and posted to social media. Teachers will be asked to wear their college gear to school that day in support of our seniors and invited to come celebrate with us in the quad.

Purple Friday - We will ask the entire school to wear Purple in honor of Purple Cord recipients. Posters will be posted on campus with the names of the students and where they plan to attend. Purple Cord dinner will be that evening.

Everyday that week a college fact will be featured in the bulletin and on CTV.
