Black Sash Prep Lessons
Besides earning Curriculum Review Stripes with your class, you are responsible for
practicing ONE Black Sash Prep Lesson each month, in any order. The videos are below. Note the three mandatory lessons in yellow at the bottom. These are more challenging and shouldn't be selected until you're a Black-Stripe sash.
Let your instructor know which lesson you've selected at the start of each month.
Be proactive about practicing, asking questions and asking for feedback from your instructor during classes.

EARNING STRIPES
Brown-Stripe Sash: Beginner Class Review (One Season: 4 Months)
3 Classes per Week - Instead of the Advanced Class, Brown-Stripe Sashes should attend a Beginner Class as their weekly curriculum class. They will be treated as student leaders or assistant instructors. Their 2nd class each week should be a Skills & Drills class that best works for your schedule & their age. Their 3rd weekly class is Black Sash Prep - where they will work on their BSP Lessons.
Earning Review Stripes:
As a "Brown-Stripe Sash", you will be practicing to earn a Beginner Review Stripe every two weeks
To earn the current stripe, demonstrate proficiency in both White and Yellow Sash lessons. You are responsible for working on both at the same time.
You are reviewing these stripes at an advanced level, and must be able to apply the skills and techniques.
Completing BLACK SASH PREP Lessons:
Home Study: Besides earning beginner review stripes, you are expected to work a Black Sash Prep Lesson (one per month).
Select a one of the lesson videos above (in any order). Let your instructor know which you've chosen at the beginning of the month.
Watch the video and practice regularly at home.
Ask to demonstrate it during class to get feedback.
Practice at home with that feedback in mind.
Finally, before the end of the month, demonstrate the lesson again in class. If you are prepared, you will complete it and move on to a new lesson!
Black-Stripe Sash: Intermediate Class Review (Two Seasons: 8 Months)
3 Classes per Week - Black-Stripe Sashes should attend an Intermediate Class as their weekly curriculum class. They will be treated as student leaders & assistant instructors. Their 2nd class each week should be a Skills & Drills class. Their 3rd weekly class is Black Sash Prep - where they will work on their BSP Lessons.
Earning Review Stripes:
As a "Black-Stripe Sash", you will be practicing to earn an Intermediate Review Stripe every two weeks
During your FIRST season at this rank, demonstrate proficiency in any TWO of the Sash Lessons to earn the current stripe. You are responsible for working on two at the same time.
During your SECOND season at this rank, demonstrate proficiency in ALL THREE lessons (Orange, Green & Blue Sash) to earn the current stripe. You are responsible for working on all three at the same time.
You are reviewing these stripes at an advanced level, and must be able to apply the skills and techniques.

3 Classes per Week - Black-White Sashes should attend an Advanced Class as their weekly curriculum class. They will be treated as student leaders & assistant instructors. Their 2nd class each week should be a Skills & Drills class. Their 3rd weekly class is Black Sash Prep - where they will work on their BSP Lessons.
Earning Review Stripes:
As a "Black-White Sash", you will be practicing to earn an Advanced Review Stripe every two weeks
During your FIRST season at this rank, demonstrate proficiency in Purple & Red Sash Lessons to earn the current stripe. You are responsible for working on both at the same time.
During your SECOND season at this rank, demonstrate proficiency in Red & Brown Sash Lessons to earn the current stripe. You are responsible for working on both at the same time.
During your THIRD season at this rank, demonstrate proficiency in ALL THREE Lessons to earn the current stripe. You are responsible for working on all three at the same time.
You are reviewing these stripes at an advanced level, and must be able to apply the skills and techniques.

Brown-Stripe: 20 Burpees + 1m Jump Rope + 1m Roundhouse Kicks
Black-Stripe: 25 Burpees + 90s Jump Rope + 90s Roundhouse Kicks
Black-White: 25 Burpees + 2m Jump Rope + 2m Roundhouse Kicks
Sit Ups
Brown-Stripe: 10 Jik Chung Chuie Sit Ups + 10 Jun Fan Block Sit Ups + 60s Speed Sit Ups (do 30+)
Black-Stripe: 15 Jik Chung Chuie Sit Ups + 10 Jun Fan Block Sit Ups + 60s Speed Sit Ups (do 40+)
Black-White: 15 Jik Chung Chuie Sit Ups + 15 Jun Fan Block Sit Ups + 60s Speed Sit Ups (do 50+)
Push Ups (3 reps for each set must be from toes)
Brown-Stripe: 5 Knuckle Push Ups + 5 Finger Tip Push Ups + 60s Push Up Challenge (do 15+)
Black-Stripe: 10 Knuckle Push Ups + 5 Finger Tip Push Ups + 60s Push Up Challenge (do 18+)
Black-White: 10 Knuckle Push Ups + 10 Finger Tip Push Ups + 60s Push Up Challenge (do 20+)
Stances (horse must use staff)
Brown-Stripe: 1:30m Horse + 60s Crane w/ Extensions (each)
Black-Stripe: 1:45m Horse + 90s Crane (each)
Black-White: 2m Horse + 2m Crane (each)
2nd season = 2:30m Horse + 2:30m Crane (each)
