The IB sends out over 170,000 sets of results, to nearly 5,000 universities and colleges, in over 100 different countries across the world.
How will the university be able to access my results?
Your first step is to complete this form prior to June 1 at 3 pm. If this form is not completed, your university will not be able to access your results. Once we have arranged for your results to be accessed by your university, you will receive a confirmation email from the IB Assistant and an automated copy of your response from the Google Form you have completed. You may also check the "transcripts" tab at candidates.ibo.org, (see the screenshots below).
How can I request transcripts if I miss the deadline?
After this deadline the school is no longer able to make requests on behalf of a candidate. See the link in the "transcripts" tab after logging into your candidates.ibo.org account in order to ensure universities receive access to your results. Alternatively, you can order transcripts to your university at any point in your academic career by clicking here.
How many universities can I ask to access to my results?
A candidate can select no more than 6 institutions worldwide. Of these six, no more than three institutions can be selected from Canada and the US (of this three only one American university can be selected).
An admissions centre counts as one request. If an admissions centre is processing a candidate’s university application, complete one request only for the admissions centre; typically you would not submit a request for a UK university if you used UCAS. For example, if a candidate is applying to several universities in the United Kingdom via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), only one request under the name of "UCAS" with the 10-digit UCAS application number is needed. The same does NOT apply for OUAC. If you applied to Ontario universities using OUAC you will still need to request that results to be sent to individual Ontario universities.
When will my university gain access to my results?
The candidate results service has been developed for candidate use only. Under no circumstances should candidates reveal their PIN to universities or admission centres. Results are released to universities through a secure website to those universities using the online service (at this point, almost all universities use this service). Release of this information is not staggered; universities are able to access all information at 1200 hours (GMT) on 5 July. For universities that require results in paper form, these documents (transcripts of grades) are printed and sent out in the weeks after results issue according to university deadlines. The IB has indicated that this form of results communication can "take up to two weeks or more to reach the university or college."
Some results are sent through central processing institutes, such as UCAS, therefore these results can take 48-72 hours to reach the individual universities and colleges.
If results are released on a weekend, the university is unlikely to have processed the results by Monday morning. "Leading destinations receive several hundred sets of results so please be patient as they process the results."
My university says they haven't received my results?
First check the "transcripts" tab at candidates.ibo.org, you may not have requested the results (see the screenshots below). We do send a confirmation upon setting up your requests as well as multiple reminders to complete the form. If your university is not listed in the "transcripts" tab, it means you didn't make the request. Please read the "information" section of the candidates.ibo.org website carefully. The link to order additional transcripts so that your university can access them is available in that section. Alternatively, click here.
If you can't confirm you requested your results to be sent to your university (see the transcript tab in your candidates.ibo.org account to check) your university usually needs to sort this out (possibly with the IB). We have no control over the IB to university transfer, all we can do is make the request.
Universities that have opted to receive transcripts electronically (which is almost all of them) will receive your transcript on the day of results release via a secure website. The IB explains that: "The university's admissions office has login details that it uses to access the website and download your transcript. Transcripts are not sent to the admissions office via email. If your transcript was sent electronically and the university informs you that they are unable to access your record, please ensure that you have provided them with the correct information (spelling of your name, date of birth and examination session). If the subject department at the university has not received your transcript, please contact the institution’s central admissions office. If you have placed the request yourself (after the release of results), it may take up to 14 working days to process."
In short, should a university state that they have not “received” a candidate’s results it is, in most cases, because they have not accessed a candidate’s results OR, as noted above, because the candidate did not ask CDNIS to arrange the issue of results to the university.
You may also find in your university profile that the university hasn't received your results simply because the university hasn't updated your profile.
Again, check the "transcripts" tab (see image below) to see if you arranged for the issue of results to your university. If you have done your part, the admissions department at the university should contact the IB to sort it out, you have done everything you need to do.

My university asked for my personal code and PIN so they could see my results, should I provide it to them?
Again, DO NOT provide this information to them. The information contained on your portal is confidential and contains more than just your results. If you completed the request for results form above, your university will have access to your results. The universities selected will be listed in the transcripts tab and will look similar to the sample below:
