Jeremiah Shadle "unfinished bee (baseline)"
7in by 5 in, acrylic paint, 2026
(IDEA) The painting was supposed to be a bee in a field of flowers. I didn't get it done as I was gone for so much time at the beginning of the semester, so I moved on from it.
(PROCESS) I got a picture of a bee and some pictures of flowers, them mashed it up and drew it. Then I got some paint out to paint in the bee.
(SYMBOLISM & ICONOGRAPHY) This artwork doesn't really have any meaning, but you can think about bees and flowers if you want. :)
(ARTISTIC GROWTH) Relearning how to paint was kinda difficult as its been a few years since painting one. I took it slowly with color mixing to relearnsome things i may have forgotten.
(VISUAL VOICE) Probably surreal, its has realistic colors, but the drawings themselves aren't realistic

Jeremiah shadle "Black hole"
12in by 7in (about), acrylic paint, 2026
(IDEA) My idea wwas to make a black hole painting. I got the idea because black holes were one of my favorite things growing up. I relized i had it upside down halfway through, which is why the colos are a bit odd below the top layer.
(PROCESS) I started with getting a cool black hole image to look at, then i drew a circle in the middle of the piece to basically outline the circle. I then proceeded to work out from there and put a lot of layers on.
(SYMBOLISM & ICONOGRAPHY) I would like people to think about what they loved as a kid, and to not forget it, as thats somethign that may make you who you are today. :D
(ARTISTIC GROWTH) Getting the blues outside the black hole to look decent next to the pure black of the middle. I got over it by layering to insanity to make it look like it was moving around it.
(VISUAL VOICE) I'd say astract, it has the oddness of the colors to it, (idk what else it would be) I loved coloring the background and the stars.

Jeremiah shadle "B&W Cat"
11 by 8 (about), Acrylic paint, 2026
(IDEA) It is a cat that i found online, that I gray-scaled and drew.
(PROCESS) I got the cat sketched out, then I used a darkish grey to outline, then i did all the darks into lights. then drew on the fur at the end.
(SYMBOLISM & ICONOGRAPHY) honestly i have nothing for this, its a cat that lookeed pretty funny so i painted him, so think about silly cats i guess
(ARTISTIC GROWTH) Getting the fur to look decent after i put on the first few layers or regular paint. I slowly did it over a few days of class to make it look alright at a distance, but up close you can see the issues.
(VISUAL VOICE) Realistic is the artstyle, as its literally a real life cat :). I like the way i blended the black and dark gray.
