Jeremiah shadle "field of flowers"
(8 by 12 (I think) )Paper, acrylic paint, pencil
(Idea) My idea was just to draw a little simple object with a kinda related thing around it (bee). I got the idea randomly just thinking and wanting to draw it, and it just kept having things added to it. I wanted to draw some flowers and a bee and I like seeing bees near them cause it makes sense.
(process) I started with an outline in pencil, then mixed and made paint, then painted. I just kinda drew and painted here, with a reference using a picture of flowers.
(symbolism and iconography) It doesn't really mean anything as I thought of it quickly. I just want the audience to think about the flowers as they are the best in the picture. not really it was just a picture of a bee and I was bored.
(Artistic growth) I found that drawing the round bee was kinda hard due to my inability to draw round things well. I kinda just blanked out and painted and drew all over it and this came out. I would probably change most things due to how unimpressed I was with it, but now I don't really mind it.
(Visual voice) I would say surreal due to how it isn't really anything, but it also isn't trying to be anything. a high schooler drawing like a kindergartner :<. The flowers looking actually decent.
Jeremiah shadle "dogs"
(13 by 14 (I think) )Paper, acrylic paint, pencil
(idea) my idea was to draw a picture of my dogs. I got it from thinking and wanting to draw something I see every day, and also it evolved due to wanting a good picture of them. DOG. no other artwork inspired me for this.
(process) my process was just geting a decent sized piece of paper, sketching it out, then painting. I just painted and drew how I saw fit (that did not turnout well)
(symbolism and iconography) It was just a picture of my dogs so it doesn't mean anything deeper. I want people to think about the dogs and how they look. no there isn't because I don't want that in a simple dog picture
(artistic growth) the most difficult part was trying to find the right color of brown for the dogs. I overcame it by just mixing the paint over and over again. probably make a better draft due to preportians being way off
(visual voice) it seems to be realistic cause that was the plan. I think that just a slight misshap on preportians will be something that I will always do. I love the goofiness of the painting being not that great.
(I spent a decent chunk of time for it to turn like this)
( I don't know what this counts as)
erm yes 30 min painting of soap
I spent some time doing it and it is a lifelike object put into paint, I don't know what else to say
soap
< remake
Jeremiah shadle "dog in space"
(about like 14 by 8 I would say) acrylic paint, pen
(Idea) The idea is of a dog in the vastness of space. I got it from a kinda joke I had in my mind, and I made it in photoshop then painted it. nothing was inspired, just a picture of a dog that was popular who I think died like a month or two ago which is sad.
(Process) I just used a paper and traced an outline of the dog with a small guiding withe space around it and the space had some reference to it. The paint for the stars was just white paint I dipped on the page once or twice
(Symbolism & Iconography) I did not have anything for meaning just a dog that I put in space. the dog. there isn't really any symbolic imagery in it.
(Artistic Growth) the dog took multiple days due to how bad I am at making the tanlike color and things based of it. I just found a consistent way on doing it. I would probably lighten the colors as they're pretty dark.
(Visual Voice) I'd say pretty surreal as a dog is in space. (do not know what this means but ye) I think the odd way of coloring is something I seem to have a coherent thing of doing. I love how the background actually looks good in this one compared to others.
Jeremiah shadle - "org"
(idk paper size) acrylic pen, pen, and sharpie
(Idea) The artwork is of some oranges. I got the idea randomly while thinking of things to paint. I drew the oranges divots like how they look in real life. I don't really think I took from another artwork, I minly did this from myself.
(Process) my process was sketching out the oranges, then doing some extra things inside of the oranges, then painting. I used a extreamly light orange for the shine thing because it looked better then pure white.
(Symbolism & Iconography) The artwork doesn't mean anything. I want the audience to think about the orange, and there is no symbolic imagery in this work.
(Artistic Growth) The most difficult thing for me to do was the making of the inside of the orange because of the only slight difference in color being pretty specific in what I needed to draw. I overcame that struggle by spending more time painting per day then I would usually do n my previous ones. I probably would slightly change the tint of the orange.
(Visual Voice) I would say that is is realistic as I used real oranges as a referrance for it. The odd color mixing is something that always seems to show in my paintings. I love the simplicity of it.
Jeremiah shadle - Bench
(idk paper size) acrylic paint, pen, sharpie
(Idea) The artwork is of a bench facing outwards during a sunset over the water. The idea came from thinking about what would look good when painted. the painting probably has some things inspired from the past, but I don't remember that, and I don't think other artworks inspired me.
(Process) the process was just outlining the important things like the bench and the sun, then painting the sky and water. The bench and ground there was painted. I really just painted to a place where my mind would like.
(Symbolism and iconography) the artwork doesn't really mean anything I just wanted to paint it. I think about how the sunset looks with the bench as a side. there isn't any symbolistic imagery in this work.
(artistic growth) I would say the colors in the water and trying to make them work together was kinda annoying. I overcame it by just using a lot of colors sparingly. I would probably try different colors for the sky because it looks slightly off
(visual voice) I would say kinda obstract, it looks odd and something. the odd color mixing is something I do which makes my style pretty unique to me.
