My first idea was just to draw like anything and i decided to draw a tree with a water background. I got the idea from a picture i found in my camera roll from a couple months ago.
i used colored pencils and pencil, i also used a shading tool a lot for the background and to fill everything in.
i think that it symbolizes the beauty of nature. i want the audience to see both the natural and man made elements of it, like the tree and the windmil.
i didnt really challenge myself on the baseline because its supposed to show my start to finish by the end of the class. i just drew something i thought looked good and went with it.
i tried to make it look realistic, it doesnt really look realistic tho. it was my best attempt at a still life drawing.
It was a class project so i didnt make the idea myself. I just did what the student teacher showed.
I started with outling everything and making sure that all the lines where there, even the ones obstructed by something infront of it. after that i added 6 extra lines on the objects so i had more boundries for color veriety. Then I started coloring with the chalk material, making sure none of the colors touched. Once i finished that i outlined the important lines with sharpee, and turned in my work.
Im not really too sure what its supposed to mean, maybe that you can make art out of anything. looking at the objects by themselves you dont really see anything interesting to draw, but looking at it like everything is glass can give new lines and new space for color or something else.
the most difficult part for me was doing all the little boundries. it was hard to get the chalk to not mix and it hurt my hands a bit trying to get all the small little boxes.
id think this would be an abstract artwork. you can look at it a couple diffrerent ways and kinda see something diffrent if you look at it differently,
My first idea was to do someone famous mughot. i was listening to nine vicious and he was talking about some dude named sid vicious. he was a god awful bassist for the sex pistols that was only brought on by his astetics, but he does look really cool and he was pretty infulential and a member of the 27 club so i decided to draw him.
i started by doing the outlines of his jawline and neck, after i started on his hair, facial features, and then the sign he was holding in his mugshot. i made it all black and white because the picture was black and white and theres not really a lot of pictures of him in color so it would be hard to get it accurate.
I think that it shows looks doesnt always mean talent. Sid had a great astetic and was loved by many but he litterally couldnt play the bass gituar. Just because he was apart of a big band at the time he got really famous when the guy before him was actually good at bass but isnt reconised like sid is.
I always really struggle with drawing lips so i had help with that. i also couldnt get the porportions right so had help getting everything sized to the page.
id say this is a still life artwork. it is of a real person and his real mugshot.
