i was thinking about making like just one big egg but i looked up on the board and saw that someone already made that so i decided to put a pan on it too.
i started by wedging my clay so it wouldn't pop in the kiln. then i started by cutting out a circle and rounding the edges so it looks like an actual pan. then i made the handle by rolling clay and pinching it to give it a little grip like feel. then i made the eggs, attached them with scratch and stick, and put it in the kiln. when it came out the handle broke off and i had to reattach it with hot glue, then i painted it and called it good.
this project symbolizes my daily routine because whenever i have breakfast i make fried eggs, bacon, and toast.
it was the hardest to reapply the handle to the base of the pan. the hot glue didnt stick super good and it took me like 30 mins to get it on.
this is a expressive ceramic, it expresses how i like to eat breakfast.
My first idea was to make a hand with the snake mouth coming out of it. i changed my idea to this because i needed to make a utilitarian project so i thought of a snake that will hold my earrings.
i first used the wheel to get my clay flat and even. then i cupped it to make a bowl and cut out the clay i was gonna use for the tongue and the cup. after that i squished the cup so it looked skinnier and put my teeth and tongue on after that. once it got out of the kiln i painted it to look like like a snake
i didn't think of any symbolism when making this, same with meaning. i just made it for my room and thought of an idea that would be cool for my room.
for me it was the most difficult to get my teeth and tongue on after it was put in the kiln. when my stuff went in it came out all seperated and i had to hot glue everything back on and it wasnt sticking for the longest time and i lost the right tooth in the process. if i started over i wouldve scratched and sticked the teeth and tongue better.
this is a non objective piece of ceramics, and this is my own style by not correcting my mistakes and leaving it as its own piece of art.
My first idea was this. this is a sword from a show i used to watch when i was little. i made this for room decoration in my room.
I first flattened out the clay with the slab roller and cut out the blade of the sword. i used a wet sponge to get everything even and looking sharp. then i made the handle and attached it with scratch and stick. after that it was ready for the kiln, fired, painted, and sanded the edges to complete it.
this peace symbolizes time because although this was a show i watched growing up, i still would consider it one of my favorite ive ever watched.
for this it was the most difficult to curve the blade the way i wanted and every time i got it wrong i had to redo everything and put it back on the slab roller. also after it came out the kiln it was separated and i had to reattach the handle and that was also pretty hard.
id say this is a realism ceramic because i wanted it to look like a blade or a sword.
this was a class project so everyone made the same thing, however i changed to color a couple times because i didn't know how it was gonna look and eventually decided on this darkish blue color.
i started by putting my clay through the press and got it flat. after that i kinda just folded it together, pinched the sides together, put on a bottom, and put in the kiln. once it came out i chose my glaze and coated it like 4 times, put it back in the kiln, and then it was done.
i didnt think of any symbolism when making this one. i just am gonna give it to my mom as a flower pot.
i didn't really have any problems with this one. i messed up 1 time because i accidentally put a hole in the side when i was cutting out the bottom. also choosing a glaze was pretty difficult
this is a utilitarian project. i want to give it to my mom as a flower pot or at least put some sort of use to it.
These are the projects i made on the wheel. i got help centering the clay on the wheel because I couldn't get it on fully and it was messing up. The one on the right is smaller than the left because i didn't have a huge ball of clay for it.
i started by getting all the stuff i needed to do the wheel, inculding the water, scraper, sponge, and the clay. I put a little bit on it so it was sticky and then threw the clay on.. after that i struggled for a long time before i got help centering the clay and after that it was a lot easier.
