Title: Black and white raccoon drawing

Artist Statement: I drew this raccoon because I think animals have a lot of personality that people don’t always notice. I wanted to show its curious and almost human-like expression. I used bloakc and whit colored pencil and white highlights on toned paper to help the fur stand out and look more realistic. I really focused on the eyes to make them feel alive and expressive. This piece helped me practice shading and texture while also telling a little story through the raccoon’s face.
