Artist statement: This is a handmade ceramic bowl that focuses on a simple shape and a dark color. I used a dark glaze to give it a calm and clean look. The rim is a little uneven, which shows it’s handmade and not perfect. I made this on the wheel, which was a struggle at first, but then I got better over time. I wanted to keep the design basic but still interesting. Overall, it shows how something simple can still look good and have meaning.
