Magnet
Clay/Acrylic Paint
2026
I wanted this magent to represent me in a few ways, I wasn't sure what to add or how to add them, but I gto there eventually. I shaped the magnet like a die, mainly because I wasn't sure how to shape it, then had to add my favorite colors first with a red background and black accents. On the top, I have the month I was born, the right shows the day and year, and finally the left shows where I'm from/where I was born. So, all together, it would be October 18th, 2008 in New York.
Bowl
Clay/Glaze
2026
This was my attempt at the pottery wheel, which didn't work out in my favor until this try...kind of. The bowl turned out lopsided and wonky, though now I did get the bottom flat so it is stable. Since I was mainly focused on my large vessel, it took a while before I glazed this piece. I did a half-and -half style, one side will eventually be blue and the other red.
"Growing Beauty"
Clay/Acrylic Paint
2026
I believe that this was the longest piece I have ever worked on in any art class. This is a piece I was beyond excited to work on, started with the base and ended with the flower. Though this piece contains much more than that, the main aspects include the body itself, the vines, the leaves, the rabbit, paw print, and the initial. I won't say much about my inspiration, I think it speaks for itself, but I won't give any explicit details on how I came up with this idea besides it being very nature-inspired. For it's story/significance, it's all about natural beauty. How people don't need to change who they are to be considered "beautiful", they're already beautiful in their own ways. Especially with imperfections, like those golden cracks in the clay. It was broken, imperfect. That just makes it more inspiring since it shows that even with hard times, it remained standing through it all.
