"Falling"
6/11 in
Watercolor
For my baseline, I just wanted to capture a beautiful fall moment since it's my favorite season and I love everything about it. There's nothing much to say, I like how it turned out, i like the colors I used, and I can't wait to see if I can do better.
Ceramic Bowl
Clay and Glaze
I really didn't know what to do with this bowl, I wanted to make it interesting in some sort of way. The drips were the only thing I could think of to make it have a lil' something. I overall like how it turned out, but I think I could do better if I tried harder.
" Falling Petals and Falling Feelings"
16/20 in
This piece was originally made to try and deal with certain feelings I was having at the time, just to get it out of me and express them. The hibiscus flower correlates into said feelings in a way, i won't get into how, but they were involved. However, I then started to lose said feelings, I couldn't just stop making this piece. So, the petals and leaves represent me losing said feelings.
"Falling Again"
This was my baseline to finish line project in which I had to re create the first piece I did in this class to see how much I improved, I used the same medium of water color, but I also used colored pencils this time around. I made the trees a bit slimmer, but more visible than the first time around. I made the focus points smaller, so the details could be more appreciated. The branches, both faint and fully visible, the lines on the wood, the leaf piles, the light shining through the leaves, etc. I also chose to paint two small leaves instead of one big leaf, dialing the focus back just a bit with an additional hidden meaning to me. I'd say I definitely improved from the start of the semester.
