This is my MIle Morales ceramic bust, the reason why I wanted to do a spiderman sculpture is that a couple of weeks before I started this project, I watched the new spiderman movie and it inspired me to make a different type of spiderman. The technique that I used was I first built clay around plastic bottles and tape, then I sculpted the head and the neck, but before I started with the small details, I took the bottles and the tape out. Then I made the small details, After that, I fired it, and then painted all of the spiderwebs. The last step, I put a hood over him and glued it down. The artwork isn't supposed to mean anything but spiderman's suit shows no skin to show that anyone can be that person behind the mask. The most difficult task was to make the eyes equal, one of my friends held a ruler, while I sculpted around, trying to see how equal it can get. The only thing I would change is to make the red webs a little bit thinner rather than thick. This artwork is non-objective because the artwork was just for fun to see how creative I could get. The hood makes it my own personal style I think because in the movie he has a hood but it looks a little different than this. My favorite thing about this is it's glowing, white eyes.
