2ft x 2ft, Acrylic on a drumhead
So I made this for the Band auction, which is where I got the inspo for the painting. The theme for the marching band this year was Spanish or more importantly Caliente. The backdrops were a purple and yellow flame with instruments on it. So I kinda took that and ran with it.Ok, not shown is the back of the piece which is where I started. On the back in the middle it says 2025 Marhcing Band. I did that in big black letters. Then I went to the front and painted the big flame in white. I did actully like 5 layers of this due to the fact it was really see through. Then I went in with the dark purple, then light, lastly yellow. At first thats all I was going to do and it looked so bad so then I shaded the flame. However that almsot looked worse. So I decied in the end to add a match in the middle giving the flame a reason to be there. Then (again not pictured) on the back all the kids in band signed it so its really cool. The artwork doesn't really have meaning besides the fact that its represents the marhcing band from this year. The worst part about making this had to be the front. Everytime I did something it just felt ugly or bad. I am so greatful it came together. To overcome how ugly it looked I took a picture and started drawing what it could look like on my digital program. Which I'm really glad I did because I would have never added the match if I didn't. The only thing I would change is the back since its really messy. I would of cleaned the drum head prior to painting it. I wouldn't call this piece realistic since the flames purple and yellow plus the match is clunky. I would say its my own style since I just drawing things kinda clunky like that. I really like the match because you can tell its a match and it was super easy to paint.

12in , acrylic on a Vinyl
So I actually painted a Vinyl earlier this year and it was super easy and looked kinda cool. I was also getting a lot of pictures on Pintrest where people painted Vinyls and I thought it looked really cool so I wanted to try it. Also around this time I was super into music symbols (I have no idea why). The first thing I did was sand down the middle part that had the original music on it and then paint it black. I knew I wanted to have this be music related so I taped off 1/3 of the record and made it into a piano. Actually this was a total accident but the paint kinda bled through and created this splatter effect on the left of the piano. I could have gotten rid of it but I ended up really liking it. next I wanted to add a more realstic detail so I pianted these ear buds and a cord on the bottom left which was really hard. Then I wrote love in music terms on the middle. I had no idea if I was going to do the back so I also painted the middle part black and splatter painted it. I think the only thing symbolic about this is how music and spread messages? Like love because of all the love songs there are out there. Thats about it though. The most difficult thing in this piece HAD to be the ear buds. If i messed up a LITTLE BIT it was so hard to clean up and it would get in the grooves and I couldn't for the life of me clean the paint off without getting the earbuds wet. Like if you look close enough you can see white paint kinda pooled in between and around them on the record. If I could start over I would get a smaller paint brush and probably try a lot harder to not mess up at all since I was too care free in the beginning. The style of this is I guess you could say realstic. Not the music notes or anything but the ear buds I tried to go for a realistic look. I think in the picture they look really good. Actully I quite like them besides the cord. That I had no idea what I was doing and it looks clunky. Same with the piano, I added no shading on it and the lines are really shaky and go from thick and thin. IfI could go back I think I would try to add at least a little bit more shading (or any for that matter) on it.

12 x 6 acrylic
There wasn't really an idea of what I wanted to paint when I went into this. I knew there was a theme, I wanted a nature themed painting that had different biomes. I knew I loved painted sea creatures (as its my entire portfolio). To start my painting I just sketched out my sections and then thought of the animal I wanted to add. I first started with the sea and grass land. I tapped them off and then painted in it. After that I went staight to the Jungle and then the flower feild. It was really hard to get the tape to line up so had to go back and repaint some spots. I also shaded and added all the extra background stuff when I did the inital spot. After all the tape was gone I added the flwoer and butterfly (I did the dolphine already as I was to impatien to let the paint dry). Then I painted the deer head and lastly (I had a really hard time) added the parrot. The artwork can honestly mean anything that lines up with nature. Protect it, its not our world, its everyones world. We have to share. The hardest part of this piece was definitely keeping everything in the lines. After removing the tape I leaked some paint everywhere, or like with the parrot I could not paint in the lines for the life of me. I jsut felt like the wrong paint got everywhere in this piece. The only thing I would change if I could would be the parrot. Maybe I would put him in a different pose or just make hi bigger since hes already the focal point of the painting. I tried to go for a realistic style however (especially the in backgrounds) it gets kinda simplistic and messy.
A fun project where we had to put 30 #2 pencils in the shape of an animal. I picked a jellyfish since I like them and theyre easy to draw. I didn't esxpect it to be so easy and look really cool in the end.

While this doesn't really count as a project I did want to incliude it in my portfolio as this is the last art class I will take in Highschool as I'm graduating. I wanted to go for something kinda nostolgic and this was probably the cutest one that almost everyone knows. I just used some paper and hot glue to make it. Overall its super sentimental as I'll wear this at graduation.
