Sid Vicious
9 x 12, Marker, 2020My Idea was Sid Vicious with the Union Jack behind him. My original idea was to just do have Sid Vicious in black with nothing in the background and it was going to be my black and white drawing but since Sid is from the U.K. I thought it would be a cool idea to put the Union Jack in the background to add some color. I started by drawing Sid with a black marker then I cleaned up some edges with a white pen. Then I took a ruler and drew the Union Jack and filled it in with red and blue markers. When people look at this artwork I want them to think of how Sid Vicious and Johnny Lydon and the rest of the pistols influenced most punk bands. I would put this drawing in the pop-art category.
Girl
18 x 24, Pencil, Colored Pencil, 2020My idea for this drawing was to do a black and white drawing and make the lips and the eyes stand out by making them color. I was originally just going to do a black and white drawing but I thought it would make a cool combo drawing by coloring the eyes and the lips. I started with the two most important parts…the eyes and the lips. Next I worked on shading the face and the neck and finally I shaded in the hair. This style of art is realism because I tried to make the girl look as life-like as possible.
My idea was to draw a girl in a way where you can see the warm tones in her face. I was going to do this drawing in marker butI I decided oil pastels would be better to blend together. I started by drawing the main features like the eyes, cheek bones, and lips, then I started coloring the warm and cool tones of her face in areas like her around her eyes, cheeks, and ears. I want people to see it and think how original it is. The most difficult part for me was putting the paper on the background because I decided to that after I had already drawn the girl. This style of art is abstract.
