Anna Hurning "Snowy woods"

acrylic paint

The thing that inspired me was a picture of these beautiful snowy trees that I took while I was in Colorado. I loved the trip and had so much fun and wanted to capture it in a painting. I started out by painting the sky and clouds in the background. Next I did the main trees in the foreground. I then did the background trees and ended with the creek and bridge. The hardest part was getting the shading of the snow to look real. I would say this painting is realism.

Anna Hurning "Skeletal"

graphite

This drawing was inspired by one of my sketches from sophomore year. I drew a skeleton hand and I really enjoyed the process. I decided I wanted to draw a detailed skeleton hand for one of my projects. I started out by roughly outlining each bone. Then I started shading the hand and wrist region. I then started shading each finger bone individually. Lastly I took an eraser and erased where the high points are. The hardest part was doing the knuckles and making each finger look like they are from the same hand. This drawing is realism.
