DREAM
Youth Mentoring & Social Change
Do you believe that all children deserve the resources and relationships necessary to achieve their dreams? Do you have a passion or idea that could make your community a better place? The DREAM
Program is seeking curious, motivated and passionate students to engage in a hands-on course in youth mentoring and social change. In this experiential course of study, you will explore four primary themes—Mentorship, Identity, Sense of Place, and Meaning & Purpose—each of which seeks to answer a set of critical questions and prepare you to be an extraordinary mentor and contributing member of your community. Course work includes 4 classes a week, with one hands on day of being a supportive and fun mentor to a younger student. A time to explore and share interests, talents, passions, students will have an opportunity design an independent or group project that investigates what makes your community unique and special, as well as its areas for growth. Considering your place in your community, what change will you make? Projects can be designed based on student interest to gain proficiencies in art, Global Citizenship, or ELA.
