An Entrepreneur is a person who is creative, self-motivated, energetic, and has a passion to be in business for him/herself. The majority of new jobs created each year are a direct result of entrepreneurship and the creation of small businesses. This course teaches the concept of entrepreneurship, and teaches students the steps of starting a business. Students will learn the key characteristics of entrepreneurs and how they have greatly impacted our society. The curriculum is aimed at 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Lessons will be delivered through lecture, video, projects, and guest speakers from local businesses. Students will create an extensive business plan for a business of his/her choice.
This course may be used as a pre-requisite for Virtual Enterprise.
Students in 10th, 11th and 12th grade can earn 3 college credits from Farmingdale State College.
