During guided reading this week, we focused on building sentences and writing them independently. The students had a wonderful time opening eggs and discovering letters inside to help them create and practice their sight words. This hands-on activity made learning both fun and engaging! We also spent time reading a variety of stories, which gave students the opportunity to practice their reading skills in meaningful ways. It has been so exciting to see the growth each student is making. They are becoming more confident readers every day and are doing an excellent job sounding out letters and blending those sounds together to read words. Keep up the great work!
We are working in our phonics booklets. Look at how far our writing has come! They are doing a wonderful job stretching out words and using what they know to spell independently. It is amazing to look back and see how much their writing has improved over time.
During literacy this week, we read a variety of stories all about feelings. We talked about our zones of regulation and identified which color matched how we were feeling. Each story we read helped us explore different emotions and understand that all feelings are important. The students did a wonderful job sharing their thoughts and making connections to their own experiences.
