January and the New Year is here! I hope everyone had a wonderful break and had some time to rest and relax with your family. Our first day back has been amazing! I was so happy to see all the children and they were happy to be back. We worked on our goals for the new year and what we wanted to accomplish at school for the rest of the year. What a start to the second semester we had! Cold Day and snow day right away! These students learned right away how to e-learn and how to use many of the buttons on their Chromebook. Thank you to the many parents/grandparents that sat by their side to help the children attend and have a smooth E-learning day.
Flashlight Reading with our Buddies
This week we had our buddies come to our classroom. During this time, we turned the lights off and each student got a small flashlight they were able to use for a light. The kindergarten students worked on reading with their 5th grade buddy. They also filled out a comprehension sheet that went along with the story they were reading. The 5th grade buddies read with their buddy and helped to write the questions on the paper.
MLK- Martin Luther King Jr.
This week we read some Martin Luther King Jr. books and had some wonderful discussions. Each student has a dream and here are just a few of the dreams they had. Watch for our class book to come home so you can see everyone's Dreams.
