CCHS Families,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2026! This is a great opportunity for all of us to start fresh, kick some bad habits, and begin some great new ones. It also allows us time to set goals for ourselves for this calendar year. We are here to support our students in achieving all of those goals and more, please let us know if there is anything we can do to further assist you or your children.
The end of the second quarter creeps up on us quickly this month (1/23). Please also see below for full details on our January Regents Exam/Midterm Schedule. The Regents retake exams move many of our students that much closer to graduation, while our midterms help prepare those that are not scheduled to take their exam until June. Students will be provided with all information regarding their exam/midterm schedule in the upcoming weeks.
**Please also note that the attendance office email has changed. All emails regarding student attendance should be sent to hsattendance@ccsd-k12.net**

This is to serve as a reminder about the law passed by Governor Hochul, banning internet-enabled devices (such as smartphones, smart watches, and tablets) during the school day. From the start of first period (7:17), until the end of last period (1:52), phones/personal devices will be stored in student lockers. Please see the letter linked below for full details on the cell phone policy. Thank you in advance for your support and partnership in the success of the students.
As a building, we are focusing on student attendance and punctuality this year. Student success relies heavily upon children consistently being at school, and being here on time.
Doors open for students at 7:00 a.m. each day. First period begins promptly at 7:17 a.m., and it is essential that students are in their classrooms ready to learn at that time. To help us reduce tardiness and strengthen academic performance in all classes, we are introducing two new attendance procedures this year:
No outside food or drink will be permitted into the building after 7:17 a.m. Students arriving late will be asked to dispose of these items before entering.
Tardies will now count toward our special event attendance requirements. Just as absences are considered in determining eligibility for certain school events and activities, arriving late will also be factored in.
The full list of special event requirements can be found in the attendance letter linked below. Thank you for your help with getting students here, and prepared to succeed each day.
