CCHS Families,
In this season when we think of all that we are grateful for, I'd like to express my gratitude to the following groups:
You- the families, who remain committed to the success of the students and to supporting them in so many ways
Our staff- who remain committed to our students, their success, and providing opportunities for children to have extremely memorable experiences, all by going above and beyond and truly making a difference
Our students- who come each day ready to learn, engage, and share their excitement for all that they take part in
November also brings about the close of the 1st marking period (11/7). Please continue to check parent portal to keep up on your student's academic performance. For anyone that is having trouble accessing parent portal, please reach out to the guidance office at 716-686-3634.
**Please also note that the attendance office email has changed. All emails regarding student attendance should be sent to hsattendance@ccsd-k12.net**

Character Word of the Month
This is to serve as a reminder about the law passed by Governor Hochul, banning internet-enabled devices (such as smartphones, smart watches, and tablets) during the school day. From the start of first period (7:17), until the end of last period (1:52), phones/personal devices will be stored in student lockers. Please see the letter linked below for full details on the cell phone policy. Thank you in advance for your support and partnership in the success of the students.
As a building, we are focusing on student attendance and punctuality this year. Student success relies heavily upon children consistently being at school, and being here on time.
Doors open for students at 7:00 a.m. each day. First period begins promptly at 7:17 a.m., and it is essential that students are in their classrooms ready to learn at that time. To help us reduce tardiness and strengthen academic performance in all classes, we are introducing two new attendance procedures this year:
No outside food or drink will be permitted into the building after 7:17 a.m. Students arriving late will be asked to dispose of these items before entering.
Tardies will now count toward our special event attendance requirements. Just as absences are considered in determining eligibility for certain school events and activities, arriving late will also be factored in.
The full list of special event requirements can be found in the attendance letter linked below. Thank you for your help with getting students here, and prepared to succeed each day.
