Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (MCJROTC) Leadership Education (LE 1) Orientation Week. This is not boot camp! This is an opportunity for the senior Cadets to exercise their leadership skills and help incoming, new Cadets transition into the MCJROTC family and high school.

During this one-week orientation, the Cadets will receive a Marine Corps uniform. They will be taught basic drills, physical training, history lessons, and other instructions offered by their senior Cadets. You can find more information on our website and brochure. Please ensure that you and your Cadets sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), H.S. Physical Fitness, and Media Release Form. Bring it to the MCJROTC Orientation.

Purpose: MCJROTC Freshman and LE1 orientation

Date & Time: The orientation program starts in the morning from 0730-1200, 25 to 28 July.

Location: MCJROTC Classroom 501, 1st Floor

Drop-off and Pick-up Location: EVHS Bus Loop

Address: 16332 Cyclone Way, Culpeper, VA 22701

Website: https://sites.google.com/ccpsweb.org/mcjrotc

Clothing: jeans and t-shirt, athletic sneakers.

Food: please ensure Cadets eat breakfast; the event will end at noon.

Unlike other programs in high school, such as drama, band, and sports, a Cadet’s success is family success too. We encourage you and your Cadets to eat lunch/dinner and discuss MCJROTC together as a family.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at 540-426-8780 or mphillips@ccpsweb.org.

Sincerely,

Dear Parents, 6 May 2022

I want to say thank you for your support at home, helping us by teaching your cadet to grow into a healthy young adults. Mess Night is a military formal dinner. This will be the last event for the seniors. I hope you can come out and see them in action.

Award Night is similar to how other clubs and sports function. The cadets will receive their awards, medals, ribbons, and other scholarships.

Since we are trying to keep this event at a low cost, we are asking guests to bring along potluck food and/or drinks. If you are unable to make it, we also accept monetary donations. Please make your check payable to “Eastern View High School MCJROTC
