Senior Regional Orchestra (SRO) is 2-day intensive full orchestra experience for high school students from the Richmond metro area, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, and all points in between. Admission is determined through a competitive audition process held annually in mid September. Auditions include major & minor scales, etude excerpt, orchestral excerpt, and sight-reading. Accepted studetns participate in a two-day event in mid November. Members are recognized with a medallion and certificate. Students accepted into the top orchestra are eligible to audition for All-Virginia Orchestra. Additionally, JRHS members earn 2 points toward the senior honor cord.
