All Carroll County Pre-K teachers possess an appropriate endorsement on a teaching license issued by the Virginia Board of Education. For a VPI teacher, this endorsement includes any of the following:

• PreK-3

• PreK-6

• Special Education Early Childhood AND the Early Childhood for 3-and

4-year-olds (add-on endorsement).

A trained, reliable rater will complete an on-site observation of each Pre-K classroom to provide data for the program’s improvement of learning environment using the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ERS).
