Ask students to look around their classroom and image it before there was anything in the room.
Now ask students to look at everything and estimate the amount of time it would take to put up everything.

When confronted with a problem, you must make a decision and tell the consequences of your decisions?
Lesson 2.4 Evaluating Alternatives
You know the story of the three little pigs. What happened?
Did they make choices? What were the choices?
Did they anticipate the consequences of their choices?
Let's see what would have happened if they had done so: Watch, "Three LIttle Pigs" below.
What alternatives did the Pigs come up with?
Who knows the story of Humpty Dumpty? What happened?
What should Humpty have thought of before he sat on that wall? What could he have done?
Let's see if he made any wiser choices. Discuss them.
If time allows, share several scenarios one at a time:
1. Playing baseball. You have played baseball with your friends on this lot near a house. The owner of the house has asked you to shift the direction of your game so that you do not break a window. You are up at bat and hit the ball. It breaks your neighbor’s window.
2. What do you do? Make a list of all of the ways you could respond.
3. How could the homeowner respond?
4. Does the home owner’s response in the past influence your decision?
Additional scenarios:
5. You need to do well on the test that is coming up. You have been very busy and it is not the morning of the test. What do you do? Why?
6. You have been picked on by a student in an higher grade level. What do you do? Why?
Ask students to come up with 3 possible alternatives as a solution. Ask them what their favorite solution it and why?
