Lesson 1.2 : Mindfulness for kids: Changing your thinking
Our first guidance lesson helped students understand that being upset can consume them and makes it difficult to learn when upset. We discussed different things people to help them change their thinking.
Discuss ways of helping a person feel better: swimming, riding a bike, running, listening to music. What can you do when you can't do those things.
Watch relaxation video below. Ask students to find something in the video that they liked. Discuss what they like and ask how they feel.
The goal for this week is to help students to develop a skill to help them to relax no matter where they are and to understand how to change how you think.
