About: This workshop starts with an open discussion inviting participants to brainstorm & discover how their languages are perceived by their students, colleagues, and societies as a whole. What cliches, taboos, & myths are attached to the languages we teach?
How do these perceptions influence the teaching & learning of these languages? What teaching challenges are rooted in these perceptions?
Participants will then work on strategies and solutions to counter these challenges.

About: You are the director, and your students have the lead roles in integrated performance assessments (IPAs). IPAs shine a light on your students and their communicative abilities. This session will break down the IPA process into three acts: 1) the context, 2) the tasks, and 3) the rubrics. You will learn how to assess your students in a way that allows them to show off what they can do with what they have learned.

Stations can be implemented in many different ways in a world language classroom, come find out all the details! In this session teachers will leave with practical station ideas, grouping strategies, differentiation techniques, and tips for maximizing student participation. Whether you’re new to stations or looking to expand your toolkit, this session will inspire and equip you to implement useful stations in your classroom.
