Nerea Gourlaouen was immersed in cultural and linguistic diversity from birth. Born on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, to a Spanish mother and a French father, she grew up trilingual, raised in Canada, and spending much of her youth in France. Her lifelong advocacy for bilingualism and language acquisition stems from this rich cultural upbringing.
Nerea holds a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and has years of experience in international education across three continents, teaching diverse age groups from Pre-K to adult learners. Her work spans bilingual and immersion programs, giving her extensive expertise in multicultural and multilingual educational environments.
In 2023, Nerea published a thesis titled The Prohibition of Indigenous Languages in the USA, exploring the history, socio-political ties, and lasting effects of Native American language suppression.
