ReBEE Folder/communication/graded papers:
Your child will bring home a BEE folder ("Bring Everything Everyday") that holds notes and classwork that should be reviewed and emptied daily.
Graded papers for you to review and sign will come home once a week.
Please return the stapled packet of signed papers the next school day.
All students who return them the next day will earn "extra Cardinal Coins" for demonstrating excellent responsibility!
Transportation Changes:
ANY CHANGE MUST be in the form of a written note or fax with a signature.
Please send the note in your child's BEE folder with the instructions for your child to present it to me first thing in the morning.
We cannot accept changes made via email unless they are accompanied by a picture of a handwritten note with a signature. (Remind messages/email reminders are welcome!)
If changes need to be made after 2:30 PM, please contact the front office.
Homework:
Please refer to the "How to help & STCE Hub" tab on my website at the top, or click here.
We suggest students: Read nightly, practice math facts, and review weekly spelling word patterns for the test each week!
In 2nd grade, students should spend no more than 45 minutes on these activities!
Report Cards:
In 2nd grade, we have Standards-Based Report Cards, and the levels should NOT be equated with numerical grades! It simply is a leveled scale indicating mastery of the current standards.
• Level 3 (Meets the Standard)-This is a “Yes!” (Mastery has been shown consistently!)
• Level 2 (Progressing toward the Standard)- This is an “Almost.” (Teacher and parents need to
discuss options for extra help. Level 2 is a big umbrella! It could be where mastery is just starting to show or all the way to not yet consistently.)
• Level 1 (Does Not Meet the Standard)- This is a “No, not yet.” (Teacher and parents need to discuss immediate interventions to help the student improve.)
Daily Snack/ Water Bottle:
Please send a refillable water bottle and one healthy snack each day! (No candy, please!)
Please label your child's water bottle for easy identification and to prevent mix-ups.
The snack also needs to be a "working snack"-one that your child can open independently, preferably utensil-free, and doesn't create a large mess, so the workspace can be kept clean.
Thank you!
Birthdays:
Feel free to send in-store-bought treats for your child's birthday to be enjoyed during our snack time — not our lunchtime. (This is new this year!)
Note: The treats need to be store-bought due to allergies, and donut holes, cookies, mini cupcakes, or Little Debbie snacks work best! (No drinks, flowers, or balloons!)
You also are more than welcome to join your child to eat lunch with him/her any day, especially on your child's birthday! (Please sign in with the front office and meet us at the bench outside the cafe, and you can enjoy eating outside in the courtyard or inside the cafe.)
Party invitations will be passed out at school only if everyone in the class is invited.
(It’s okay for boys to invite all boys and girls to invite all girls. No one likes to feel left out...)
Thank you!
Classlink:
Students: Log in through Classlink (by clicking here) and go to the Elementary School folder.
In order to log into Google Classroom, your child will need to go to the Google folder after logging into Classlink.
Classlink login info is:
firstname.lastname@student.ccboe.net
(and the password is student-created. )
If you are new to STCE and your child does NOT have a password, please create one using this sheet (here).
NOTE: Your child must be able to log into Classlink in order to access all resources as well as join/access our Google Classroom!
Important!
Parents: Google Classroom is where I post all assignments and resources.
I encourage you to have your child log in to Google Classroom (GC) and show you all the fun stuff we are working on in class once the login process has been taught.
When you registered, the county automatically joined you in my Remind group. However, if you are a caretaker and would like to be added, please reach out to me. The basic step is to:
Text the number 81010 and in the text box, enter
