What Does it Mean to Level Up?

A teacher's job is to hone their craft. By participating in meaningful professional learning, teachers are able to become better practitioners at their chosen profession. Columbia County School District's concept of Level Up, originating from Floyd County Schools in Rome, Georgia and Richland Two in Columbia, SC, offers teachers an opportunity to become better at what they do. Teachers submit evidence of advancing their knowledge of integrating technology while using that same technology to enhance student learning. Additional activities were adapted from Batesburg-Leesville Schools, Meredith Akers, Kasey Bell, Eric Curts, Dan Gallagher, Alice Keeler, Kate Piland, Virginia Duncan, and Stacey Lindes.
