Last year, Mrs. Harry’s 4th grade U.S. History students participated in the Sons of the American Revolution poster contest. Elliana Johnson’s poster advanced from the regional competition to the Texas state contest, where she earned first place. Her work then represented the state of Texas at the national level, where she was awarded first place as well!!! Elliana was formally recognized at the Sons of the American Revolution monthly meeting. Mrs. Harry deeply values the ongoing partnership with this organization and the opportunities it provides for students to engage meaningfully with history. Congratulations, Elliana!

We are also very appreciative of our school photographer and CCA mom, Mrs. Christie Gare, who always captures great shots of your students for your memories and to contribute to our award-winning yearbook. If you see Mrs. Gare, please feel free to give her a personal thank you. An even better way to show her your gratitude is to purchase your favorites! Photography is Mrs. Gare's livelihood. It is important that we as parents purchase any photos that we want to keep, and only use pictures as we have license to do so; using a copyrighted image without permission, even if it is found online, is a violation of copyright law and directly impacts Mrs. Gare's business. Pro tip: if it has a watermark, it hasn't been paid for. Please join us in showing your support and gratitude to Mrs. Gare for her talented work!

Free SAT/ PSAT Prep Session
CCA High School students are invited to a FREE 2-hour session to help with the upcoming SAT and PSAT tests this fall. Henry College Prep is run by Brooke Henry, who is a CCA graduate and was a National Merit Commended Scholar. She has been providing individual SAT/PSAT tutoring sessions for several years. She will be leading a group prep session focused on college entrance exam testing skills at CCA's Upper Campus on September 30th from 4pm-6pm. Be sure to sign up now at the link below to save your spot! If you would like information about individual test prep tutoring, contact Mrs. Burrow at aburrow@ccawarriors.com.
Students who are planning on going to college in the fall need to complete the 26-27 FAFSA form in order to qualify for financial aid. This qualifies you for Federal grants and loans, but is often required by colleges to receive scholarships from the school as well. Deadline to fill it out is in January, but the early you fill it out the better!
Registration Deadlines for SAT and ACT
11th and 12th graders interested in taking the SAT or ACT in November and December, now is the time for you to sign up! Remember CCA proctors the PSAT here on campus, but students register for the SAT and ACT on their own. Be sure to check out the September Academic Advising section of the Warrior Weekly and the Academic Advising TEAM for more resources.
