Congratulations to CCA Senior Mariella Johnson, whose projects earned several awards in the Junior categories at the State Fair Creative Arts competition. Mariella won a 1st place award for the stuffed animals division with her crocheted armadillo and honorable mention for the accessories division with her denim bag, both were part of the Junior Needlework and Sewing competition. She also won 2nd place for her Christmas door decoration in the Holiday Corner of the open division. Mariella just started sewing and quilting last year as part of her CCA independent art class. She is already working on new projects for her second year in independent art. We can't wait to see what amazing projects she does next.

When the Herdman kids—wild, mischievous, and totally unpredictable—decide to join the church Christmas pageant, the town braces for disaster. No one expects these rascals to actually steal the show, but with a mix of humor, unexpected wisdom, and plenty of Christmas spirit, they transform the pageant into an unforgettable celebration. This hilarious and heartwarming story is a reminder that the true meaning of Christmas can shine through in the most unlikely ways.

College Visits
Juniors and Seniors are allowed to take one day each semester (2 a year) for a college visit that does not count against your school absence limit. If you are planning to go on a college visit be sure and fill out the College Visit Absence Request form a week ahead of time and turn it in to Mrs. Burrow after you have your teachers sign it. This form is found on the Academic Advising Team in the College Visit Information folder in files. If you do not complete this form and get it approved the absence will be considered a regular unexcused absence.
FAFSA is now open!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now available. Students who are planning on going to college in the fall need to complete the 26-27 FAFSA form in order to qualify for financial aid. This qualifies you for Federal grants and loans, but is often required by colleges to receive scholarships from the school as well. Deadline to fill it out is in January, but the earlier the better!
