Campus Closed Tues., Jan. 27
Students who normally have classes/lessons on campus on Tuesdays should check their teachers’ respective Teams pages for class-specific information.
For all other students, Tuesday will function as a normal satellite day. Families should check Teams as usual for lesson plans and Weekly Assignment Sheets.
Athletics will share any updates regarding Tuesday activities through their normal communication channels.
At this time, CCA plans to reopen for normal business on Wednesday. Please plan on school to be in session Wednesday unless the school communicates differently. Students in Prayer will be rescheduled for another date.
We hope you are enjoying this time at home together as a family and staying safe and warm.
Campus Closed Wed., Jan. 28
CCA will be closed on Wednesday, January 28th. This decision was made with the safety of all families and student drivers in mind, especially since many families and staff commute from areas well outside of McKinney.
To account for this closure, school will now be held on Monday, April 6th, which was originally designated as a make-up day on our calendar. Thursday will function as a normal satellite day, and we plan to be open for normal Thursday rhythms.
We will share additional updates as needed. Please continue to monitor CCA’s communication platforms for further information.
Thank you for your flexibility, and we hope you are all staying safe and warm.

National Lego Day
Time: Jr. High Lunch Period

Celebrate National LEGO Day with a school wide LEGO build competition open to all students in grades K-12!
Because LEGO creations can be difficult to transport, students will submit a photo of their entry instead of bringing the build to school. The student must be in the photo with their LEGO creation, and photoshopped entries will not be accepted. Students must complete the submission form to officially enter the contest. Prizes will be awarded.
All entries must be submitted by Tuesday, January 27. Voting will open on Wednesday, January 28 (National LEGO Day), and winners will be announced on Friday, January 30.
Junior High students are invited to come to Mrs. Scott’s room during lunch to build with LEGOs. Students are encouraged to bring any LEGOs they have; pieces will be kept separated by station as best as possible. During lunch, students will also watch time-lapse videos of LEGO creations.
If you have LEGOs you would like to donate, please bring them in. Mrs. Scott is hoping to start a LEGO Club soon, and donations are greatly appreciated.

Spring Academic Advising
Information about registering for next years courses will be sent out later this spring. Like last year, Mr. Dowell and I will send out information about courses, degree plans, etc. and host a couple question and answer nights for families to ask about anything they want more information about in February. If students or students and parents would like to meet for advising, please contact Anna Burrow at aburrow@ccawarriors.com. I will mainly be available for advising appointments on Thursday and Friday mornings and lunch hours and happy to help plan for high school or college.

Registration Deadlines for SAT and ACT
11th and 12th graders interested in taking the SAT or ACT in February or March, now is the time for you to sign up! Remember CCA proctors the PSAT here on campus, but students register for the SAT and ACT on their own.
SAT March 14th Test: Registration Deadline Feb 27th
ACT April 11th Test: Registration Deadline March 6th
With colder weather arriving, please ensure students come dressed for the temperature. While we work to keep classrooms comfortable, our historic buildings can vary in warmth. Students should dress in layers and bring CCA-approved outerwear for use indoors. Please refer to the guidelines below.
Students should also bring coats for outdoor time. We will continue to eat and play outside when weather permits. Outdoor coats do not need to be CCA-approved.
Outerwear Guidelines:
CCA Lands’ End or CCA-approved outerwear with a CCA logo may be worn in the classroom (sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, windbreakers, letter jackets). Gray, black, burgundy, and white are acceptable. All outerwear must be worn over a CCA uniform shirt.
Non-uniform coats may only be worn outdoors and when transitioning between buildings.
Solid burgundy, gray, black, or white leggings/tights may be worn with skirts/skorts/jumpers; no designs or holes.
Backless shoes, house shoes, moccasins, slippers, and blankets are not allowed on campus.
On particularly cold days, administration may announce jeans and spirit wear. Notices will be sent via Teams and other communication platforms. Unless notified, students should wear normal uniform. School closures or delays will also be communicated via Teams and Skyward.
This year, SIP's theme focuses on discovering who we are in Christ. To support this, we recommend the devotional Identity: Discovering Who You Are in Christ (31-Day Devotionals for Teenagers).
Written specifically for teens, it offers daily encouragement, scripture, and practical applications that point students to their true identity in God. It also aligns beautifully with CCA's theme, “Created on Purpose for a Purpose.” Parents will find it helpful too, as a way to foster spiritual growth for the whole family.
Order through the link below—charges will go to your FACTS account. Please order by Friday, December 5th to have it in time for next semester's Students in Prayer meeting. Thank you for helping our students grow in faith and confidence in Christ!
Please send Jonathan Dowell an email directly. jdowell@ccawarriors.com
We are excited to share that beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, CCA will transition from Skyward to FACTS as our Student Information System (SIS).
FACTS will be used for grades, attendance, parent contact information, and other important student records. We believe this change will simplify and streamline many of our processes. For families, one of the key benefits is that FACTS will integrate seamlessly with your existing FACTS tuition accounts, creating a single, convenient place to access important information.
This transition will take place next school year, and no action is needed from families at this time. As we approach August, we will share additional details, including what families can expect and any steps needed to prepare.
