Job Shadowing
The Catawba County School System offers shadowing opportunities for students to explore different career areas and opportunities. This program enables a student to spend a designated amount of time, usually a half or full day, with a person who serves as a career model in a field of interest to the student.
In job shadowing, a student gets the opportunity to partner with a business and their school. The student sees what it is like to perform a certain type of work by accompanying an experienced worker as they perform the targeted job.
Students in CCS can apply for a job shadow experience after school or in the summer. All grade levels can job shadow. A job shadow experience is usually for half a day or one day at a site.
