Career Development Coordinator828 695-2635St Stephens High School
1990 Graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne, BA Business Education2009 Graduate of Appalachian State, Masters Degree in Instructional Technology
I've worked many jobs before I began my career in education but the one that I feel helped me become a better teacher was when I worked for Dilan, a systems integrator and the first company to offer internet services in Hickory. I was the purchasing manager and loved being on the forefront of technology being added to businesses and schools.
I loved the 18 years I taught CTE classes at Fred T. Foard. I've also coached, been a mentor to new teachers, and co-yearbook advisor.
I became a CDC in 2016. I enjoy sharing information with students that can help direct them in a career path that matches their personality and skills. The greatest reward from this job is finding out that the internship or career recommendation that I've helped a student select has benefited them in discovering what their next step after high school will be.
