Career Internships
CCS students request an internship by filling out the online application. Requests for placement will be facilitated by a Career Development Coordinator (CDC). CDCs will help students find a placement in their area of interest.
In the Catawba County Schools system, a career internship is a short-term experience, often unpaid, that gives students hands-on work experience.
Career internships are available in a wide variety of fields, private business and non-profit organizations. In general, an internship:
Is an agreement between a student (high school) and an organization or business
Allows a student to gain skills and experience in a short-term, real-world work environment
Can be paid or unpaid
Is supervised by a Career Development Coordinator
