WORK BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Internship
Work based learning is an experience where a student participates in the daily operations at a work site under the direct supervision of a business mentor. Students have several options to participate in work based learning outside of school while earning high school credit. For more information and examples of sites, click on the individual tabs below.
School year internships in career, teaching, and services are available to qualified high school students.
Career or teaching internships are available for qualifying juniors and seniors during the school year.
Service internships are available to eligible students in grades 9-12 during the school year.
Summer internships are available for rising 9th - rising 12th graders. Preference is given to rising juniors and seniors for career internships and all grade levels qualify for service internships.
Service internships are available to eligible students in rising grades 9-12 during the summer.
Job Shadow
In job shadowing, a student gets the opportunity to partner with a business and their school. The student can see what it is like to perform a certain type of work by accompanying an experienced worker as they perform the targeted job of interest.
