iPads are hardwired to the network, no wifi.
iPads connect to the network via ethernet when plugged into the field cart's trays.
iPads will be disconnected from the network so coaches and players can watch video.
It's important not to disconnect the iPad before the last play is visible in Focus.
Once the coaches and players are done with the iPads, the iPads must be reconnected to the field cart to update with the latest plays and download upcoming plays.
Only 1 side of ball plays at a time (Offense, Defense, and Special Teams). While that side of ball is on the field, the iPads used by those coaches and plays must be in the field carts. When they come off the field, the iPads need to be on the bench and ready to be reviewed.
The field carts are installed behind the bench and provide power and ethernet connectivity to the iPads. iPads must be plugged into the USB-C ports to connect to network to download video.
The field cart's main power switch is in the front bottom right corner. On the back there is an additional red button to power the fans, and the UPS is powered on by hitting the circle beehind the plastic clip. This ensures the cart maintains power even if power is lost.
The sides of the field cart double as tables. These can be used as a workstation for the technicians. iPads be placed on the table to cue up the video for the coaches before distributing the iPads to the coaches.
The sideline junction box connects the field cart to the network. These are permanent installations that the field carts will connect over ethernet.
On gameday, the technician will connect an ethernet cable from the field cart to the sideline junction box. The power in the junction is not on 24/7. This box will need to be powered on before the game starts, and it will need to be powered down after the game finishes. This ensures the switch is not damaged due to excessive heat throughout the week.
