ROWING CAMP

LAKE RUATANIWHA 2024

THAT'S A WARP FOR TRAINING CAMP!

It has been an incredible week on the Lake Ruataniwha clocking up the km’s, and making great improvement in the boat.

All crew members had a memorable experience and have all newfound blasters. True to the Twziel weather it was sunny and warm all week with a bit of wind.

A big mihi to Joe and the coaching team for all the effort and dedication to bring together the training camp. The crew members certainly appreciate it!

To the parent help, thank you for being superstars! The time and energy you poured into the week is greatly appreciated. A seamless execution of all the many roles you did made for a fabulous week!

Cheers, Meridian Rowing Complex & South Island Rowing! It has been a great privilege to row at your place. See you next year.

A highlight for crew members was the mini whānau squad's challenges set by this year's rowing captains. Challenges were a quiz, the tallest spaghetti marshmallow tower and mixed quad racing.

Coach Boat - CASH 01

During training camp, Cashmere High School Rowing was able to make great use of its maiden coach boat.

This boat was generously donated by Ron Smith. Cashmere High School Rowing will be forever grateful to Ron, as a coach boat is an invaluable resource for any rowing squad. It enables the coaching team with ease to give feedback to crew members on their rowing technique while on the water.

Ron Smith is a Cashmere High School alumni and a proud old boy. In recent years when he gets the chance he attends regattas in Twizel to support his granddaughter and Cashmere High School.
