FEES
Fees are structured as an all inclusive that incorporates all the costs for the season. Therefore no hidden costs or surprises for each crew member and their family as the season progresses.
Please note that if your child is selected to compete in the New Zealand Secondary School Rowing National Championships, Maadi Regatta, at the end of the rowing season, there will be an additional fee incurred. Attending Maadi is based on the selection criteria. Also, the uniform is an additional cost because not all rowers will need a new uniform each season.
Rowing total cost for the season is $3,995.
Coxing total cost for the season is $2,450.
Fees can be paid either as a lump sum at the beginning of the season or in instalments throughout the season Please see the instalment table for more details. Fees are loaded onto the crew member's school account and can be paid via the school bank account as per other school expenses. Accounts can also be paid via credit card.
Included in the fees are:
Coaching & Training. The coaching team provides between 5 to 7 training sessions per week over the 20 weeks of rowing season plus at four regattas and two training camps, totalling 225hrs approx of coaching. Furthermore, the Coaching team will create a summer break training program for crew members.
Camp & Regattas. A total of four regattas and two training camps, totalling 17 nights away, 50 meals across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Furthermore, all transport to and from regattas, accommodation and entry fees.
Maintenance. Our boats, trailers, safety equipment and training gear require regular maintenance to ensure the safety of our crew members. Plant and equipment purchases such as new boats are the subject of separate fundraising.
Affiliation & Membership. Each crew member will be affiliated with the New Zealand Rowing Association and Canterbury Rowing Association. Also, each rower will be a member of the Canterbury Rowing Club. With this comes the ability to store our boats, but also hire additional boats from the Canterbury Rowing Club.
What is not covered in the fees:
Uniform - Cashmere High School on water and off water rowing uniform
Any extra school sport items that rowers and coxswains wish to purchase such as the sports hoodie
Individual personal food and certain food items and baking for regattas
New equipment and plant such as rowing boats
Maadi Regatta – attending this regatta is based on coach and school selection therefore will be an added cost for each rower. The fees can range between $1,500 - $1,700 depending on if Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel or Lake Karapiro, Cambridge is hosting.

Payment and Refund Policy
We understand that rowing and coxing fees are a significant expense for many families. There are two options for payment.
1. Payment in full for returning crew members by 20st of September 2024. Full for novice crew members by 13th of October 2024.
2. Payment by four instalments. Payment of fees by instalment must be by direct debit to the Finance Office at the time of registration.
Overdue accounts as of 16th of February 2025 may impact rowers and coxswains participation after this date.

Rowing and Coxswains fees may be paid in the following ways:
Parent Portal (credit card) – incurs a 3% surcharge, max $5.00
Internet banking to ASB 12-3482-0034441-00
Reference required - please use student name and charge being paid eg rowing fee
At school student reception during office hours, 8.30 am - 4.00 pm
If a rower or coxswain withdraws from the rowing programme, a fee refund request will be considered on a case by case basis by the Rowing Coordinator with support from the Sports Dept. This will be dependent on circumstances and timing.
