Fees

FEES

Fees are structured as an all inclusive that incorporates all the costs for the season. Therefore no hidden costs or surprises for each crew member and their family as the season progresses.

Please note that if your child is selected to compete in the New Zealand Secondary School Rowing National Championships, Maadi Regatta, at the end of the rowing season, there will be an additional fee incurred. Attending Maadi is based on the selection criteria. Also, the uniform is an additional cost because not all rowers will need a new uniform each season.

Rowing total cost for the 2023/24 season is $3,750.

Coxing total cost for the 2023/24 season is $2,150.

Fees can be paid either as a lump sum at the beginning of the season or in instalments throughout the season Please see the instalment table for more details. Fees are loaded onto the crew member's school account and can be paid via the school bank account as per other school expenses. Accounts can also be paid via credit card.

Included in the fees are:

Coaching & Training. The coaching team provides between 7 to 8 training sessions per week over the 25 weeks of rowing season, totalling approximately 250 hours of coaching. Also boat lending fee from the Canterbury Rowing Club.

Camp and Regattas. A total of 8 regattas and a week long camp, totalling about 15 nights away. Therefore about 45 meals across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Furthermore, all accommodation, transport and entry fees.

Maintenance. Our boats, trailers, vans, safety equipment and training gear require fuel and regular maintenance to ensure the safety of our students. Plant and equipment purchases such as new boats are the subject of separate fundraising.

Affiliation & Membership. Each rower and coxswain will be affiliated with the New Zealand Rowing Association and Canterbury Rowing Association. Also each rower will be a member of the Canterbury Rowing Club. With this comes the ability to store our own boats, but also hire additional boats from the Canterbury Rowing Club.
