What are icebreaker questions?
Interviewers often start with a general questions, such as "Tell me a little about yourself."
To answer this question, it helps to prepare a 30-60 second "commercial" about yourself. In constructing your commercial:
Create a well thought-out, logically-sequenced summary of your experience, skills, talents, and educational background
Keep your commercial focused on your future profession and full of specifics about you
Write out your commercial in advance and rehearse it, so that it comes easily to you. Your goal is to sound natural and engaging, without being choppy or over-rehearsed.
If interviewers don't ask an icebreaker question, your commercial can be used to summarize yourself at the end of the interview.
