Due Date: March 5th
Instructions:
Haley Perez will assign peer review groups of three or four. It is each group's responsibility to find time to meet virtually and complete this assignment before March 5th
Great options for virtual meetings include Google Hangouts and zoom.
Before meeting, each group member should prepare a list of example interview questions to ask their peers. These questions should contain a mix of STAR and dilemma questions, drawn from this workshop or any other source.
Here's a list of possible interview questions: Questions that Carthage students have been asked at their pre-health interviews
At the meeting, group members should take turns practice interviewing, with two people acting as interviewers and one person as the interviewee. Practice interviews should be at least 15min long, and should follow a similar structure:
Start with the icebreaker question
Ask a mix of STAR and dilemma questions
End with time for questions for the interviewer. Clearly, the interviewer can't answer these questions accurately, but they can evaluate them for quality.
Optional: Practice interviews can be videotaped using Google Hangouts Meet, or other online meeting platforms.
After the practice interviews are over, all group members offer constructive criticism on their own and on each other's interviews. Try to address some basic questions:
How well did the interviewee answer the icebreaker? STARs? dilemmas? questions for the interviewers? What was effective about the answers? What can be improved?
What was effective about the interviewee's style and manner of speaking? What can be improved?
What was effective about the interviewee's non-verbal behavior? What can be improved?
From this peer review, the interviewee should type up a list of strengths and areas for improvement for their interview.
