1. FINDING AN ARTICLE
You must bring in an article related to Italy, the Italian language or Italian culture. You must cut the article out from a newspaper or magazine. The local newspapers contain sections related to world news; please look in these pages to find an article. The Travel Section or Culture Section of a newspaper is a great source to find articles. You may use ONLINE Newspaper & Magazine articles from APPROVED WEBSITES ONLY!!
You can also use the Italian language newspaper Oggi in America as a source for articles. These articles will be in Italian, but your summary can be in English. Try to interpret what is being said in the article to the best of your ability.
2. AFTER YOU FIND AN ARTICLE
You must read the article and write a brief summary of what you have read. You must hand in the original article with a brief summary of what is being reported. Both the article and summary can be written in English.
3. SUBMITTING THE EXTRA CREDIT
When you hand in an article, make sure that it is taped to a sheet of paper with the summary written or typed below it, or staple it to your summary. Be sure to include the name of the newspaper or magazine and the date the article was published. This information should be placed below your summary.
These extra credit points can be applied to test grades, quiz grades, project grades, and homework grades, but they may not be used on averages, only on individual assignments.
