Lou & Elsa

Hello, we are Lou and Elsa, students in the second year of the DTS IMRT at Charles Carnus High school in Rodez.

We will give you our impressions of our trip to Austria. During this trip we attented the Vienna congress and we were able to visit the city of Vienna, and discover different specialities that we will describe to you later.

Culinary specialities :

The first picture is the Käsekrainer. It’s a sausage with hot cheese in it, which we eat in bread like a hog-dog with mayonnaise or ketchup

The second picture is the original Wiener Schnitzel vom kalb it is a breaded veal cutlet, served with a potato salad.

The last picture shows Marillen Krapfen these are donuts filled with apricot jam and powdered with sugar icing.

The conferences :

Throughout our stay we went to see different conferences on mammography, post-mortem pediatric imaging, neonatal emergencies, child abuse.

The conference we enjoyed the most, dealt with breast cancer throughout life.

Here is what we learned from the conference:

Breast cancer is present at all stages of life and it is the leading cause of death before 30 in women.
The imaging methods used are mammography, ultrasound, scanner and mammary MRI with more or less injection of contrast medium. Breast MRI with contrast medium is used for vascular imaging.
If at high risk of breast cancer (genetic factor) : There are physiological changes depending on the woman's cycle. Before the age of 30, it is recommended to practice ultrasound in the first intentions because the rays present dangers.
If risk unknown in the 20-40 year olds it is recommended to perform palpation and an MRI.
It has been considered that artificial intelligence can help with the diagnosis of breast cancer in MRI and mammography.
Breast cancer in pregnant women can be detected by ultrasound and MRI.
