COMMON APP ANSWERS
(NEW) Students will now be able to launch their CSU/UC college applications through California Colleges.
Please note: Students must log in through their CUSD student email address.

tips for a successful senior year
August/September
Create a balanced college list
Research if your schools require the SAT/ACT (be sure to register for these exams if needed)
Request letters of recommendation by required deadline
Create accounts for CSU, UC, Common App, and individual college applications. Keep a log of all usernames and passwords
September-November
Finalize personal statements
Complete Brag Packets for letters of recommendation
Request letters of recommendation by required deadlines
Complete and submit college applications
Send official ACT/SAT tests scores
ACT: UC - Send to one UC and all will receive. CSU - Send to one CSU and all will receive. Send individually to other colleges
SAT: UC - Send to one UC and all will receive. CSU - Use code 3594 to submit to all campuses. Send individually to other colleges
December-March
Routinely check emails and portals at least once a week to ensure no missed communication from colleges
Send transcripts when needed
Priority Deadline -March 2nd - Complete FAFSA (Federal Aid) or CADAA (California Dream Act Application) & CSS Profile (Select private college's financial aid application)
Attend MiraCosta Community College application and orientation workshop.
Complete scholarship applications in Naviance
Complete and submit community service hours
Order cap and gown
