Class of 2023 and Beyond
Students in the class of 2023 and beyond will move to an unweighted GPA and a new honor system that combines overall GPA with number of honors classes taken to recognize top students. A three tier cum laude system will be used to honor such students at graduation. Students must take a minimum of 4 honors classes to achieve this recognition. The highest level of recognition would require taking eight (8) honors classes. To qualify for honors, students must achieve an unweighted 3.9 GPA or higher and must take the number of honors classes listed below to achieve membership in the cum laude society. There is no rounding on GPAs.
LEVEL REQUIRED GPA (Unweighted) Number of Honors Courses
Cum Laude 3.75 - 4.0 4
Magna Cum Laude 3.9 - 4.0 6
Summa Cum Laude 3.9 - 4.0 8

Be fully aware that early release is a privilege and not a right, and that privileges require responsibility. It is the student’s responsibility to:
Be consistently in school and on time. (No more than 3 tardies each nine weeks.)
Have no failing grades in any class.
Sign out daily at the attendance desk promptly after my last class.
Drive to and from school in a safe manner.
Not return to school grounds without administrative approval.
Not take others with me when I leave who do not have early dismissal.
Realize that if there are any discipline issues, early release privilege will be revoked and students will be assigned to study hall.
Display a parking tag and follow all student driving and parking policies at all times.
Follow the directives of the administration, teaching staff, and all other adults in the building.
I understand that if I should violate any of the above rules and conditions the administration will revoke my early release privilege and assign me to study hall.
