Canby High School students will receive their specific Distance Learning plans on Monday, which will outline the schedule by class period. Packets will be available for pick up for students who do not have Internet access on Monday at CHS from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. Staff will also distribute textbooks at this time. Students with Internet access will receive instruction and assignments online through Google Classroom.
Students who need their iPad may pick it up this Friday, April 10th, from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at CHS. Staff will deploy a limited number of mobile Internet hotspots to families without reliable Internet connectivity. Please follow the instructions for social distancing during pickup. You may also consider contacting your local Internet provider for free access. Click here to learn more.
Canby School District will not be utilizing any video conferencing tools to conduct live instruction. Instead, it will be delivered through printed materials, email, phone calls, and Google Classroom. Some staff may include video instruction, but it will be recorded and will not be delivered in real time. Therefore, students will have the flexibility to complete assignments at a time that works best for them during the school day.
Seniors will be contacted next week regarding graduation status. In addition, the CHS administrative team will be sending a letter providing details on graduation-related concerns and events.
Again, thank you for your patience and flexibility as we launch Distance Learning. Our plans will evolve over the coming weeks, and while learning from home cannot replicate what happens in our classrooms, we look forward to partnering with our families to keep students engaged and interested in their learning.
You will receive additional communication from your school principal ahead of Monday’s launch. If you have specific questions, please contact your school’s principal.
