Step 1: Follow the directions for Archiving and Deleting Old Google Classrooms.
Step 2: Follow the directions for preparing new Google Classrooms by either adding them manually or
accepting the auto-rostered classrooms that are on your home page.
Google Classrooms must be prepared BEFORE you use the conversion tool.
Step 3: Follow the directions for Creating Collections in Schoology to house resources. It is recommended
that you break your courses down into smaller categories, such as videos, assessments, pdfs, etc.
Moving your entire course to one folder can take longer to convert and may cause sorting issues.
Isolating your assessments will make it easier when you use the assessment converter.
Step 4: Follow the directions for Exporting your Collections to your computer, or even better, Google
Drive. Exporting will produce an IMSCC file (common cartridge), which will be used during the
conversion process.
Step 5: Follow the directions for using the Common Cartridge Classroom Converter to bring assignments
over to Google Classroom.
Step 6: Follow the directions for Converting Schoology Assessments to Google Forms. This tool is called
GetMarked. You will need to Set up your account before you use this tool.
Step 7: Follow the directions for Organizing and Setting Preferences to help create a similar experience
for students. DO NOT Assign any work until you have followed the directions for Synergy setup.
Step 8: Follow the directions for properly setting up Synergy gradebook for each Google Classroom.
